Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO) and international campaign #ChooseWOMEN is a non-governmental volunteer organization that empowers, celebrates, and supports women in business worldwide. Launched in 2013, WEDO works globally to empower women and girls to become active participants in the economy by igniting a network of women leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs to initiate startups, drive economic expansion, and advance communities around the world. In order to achieve this ambitious goal, WEDO builds and catalyzes the vital networks of like-minded individuals and organizations that women business leaders need in order to realize their full potential and change the world.
To support this mission, WEDO Canada is assembling a Marketing Committee to amplify our impact, strengthen communications, and enhance visibility. Volunteer Role – WEDO Canada Graphic Designer / Visual Brand Lead
Are you looking to grow your design portfolio while contributing to a national organization that empowers women entrepreneurs? This is a creative opportunity to shape a recognizable visual brand with purpose, not just through static visuals but also engaging motion content.
As Graphic Designer / Visual Brand Lead, you will be responsible for visually communicating WEDO Canada’s mission. Reporting to the Marketing Director, your work will touch everything from campaigns to event promotions, and your contributions will be key to our success.
Your Responsibilities will include:
· Design digital and motion assets including social media graphics, short animated content, newsletters, reports, and event materials.
· Create and maintain brand consistency across platforms.
· Collaborate with other committee members to develop engaging visuals.
· Support visual storytelling, event branding, and collateral creation.
The main outcomes of this role:
· Build a purpose-driven design portfolio.
· Elevate the brand identity of a national movement supporting women entrepreneurs.
· Gain experience creating for nonprofit communications.
· Contribute to meaningful campaigns and national events.
The Skills, Abilities & Experience you are offering:
· Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma), and motion design tools (e.g., After Effects, Adobe Premiere, Lottie, or similar).
· Strong understanding of branding and layout principles.
· Creative and solution-oriented mindset.
Time Commitment and Term:
A 12-month volunteer commitment (flexible hours, remote).
